AT LONG LAST….
4 consecutive MasterWorks have passed….
And blogging that was all the rage of freshman college days….
The surrender to social networking now complete…
I have a blog.
For my first post, I contemplated mimicking Sarah and saying that my creative output is exhausted by the setting up of this blog: http://lifenoted.wordpress.com/2008/12/12/hello-world/
Problem is… I set up this blog last March. (The date lies. This post was written on Sept. 14, 2009.) Bummer. Can’t plagiarize Sarah’s wit.
I then considered referencing Matt, by protecting this blog (from heading to its certain dire straits) via committed written accountability: http://mattkiefer.wordpress.com/2008/12/02/hello-world/
But, alas AND alack!! I do not trust my philosophical bent to take me to quite such depths as to reach motivational language by the end of the post. Too deep for me.
So blatant truth will have to do. I have an assignment due tomorrow. No, this blog post is not procrastination… exactly. My assignment IS to write a blog post. It will be posted on the class blog: http://fcm07.blogspot.com/. I fully expect this class to provide the sport Mr. Bennet so fully embraces. The levels of erudition present in our discussion sections are truly delightful. It is a funny thing, feeling like one has just stepped into a Frasier episode. I confess I amused myself greatly by imagining the would-be running commentary of certain MWF folks and like-minded musicians, were their presence in this class possible. All jokes aside, I decided that a blog post requirement for a class must be THE final motivator to get my own blog going. If I am going to be turning in a weekly blog post for a class, I might as well get the creative juices flowing here. So if this blog does not reach sport check out the class blog. Classical musicians: we are discussing your future there! The information might achieve relevance if not sport… I have great hopes that it will achieve both.
I want to start a discussion on a quote from the required reading. But, I think that shall be my next post. So to end: I have high hopes for this blog. May it range from serious discussion to its intended neighborly sport. That is a tall order for me, self-described procrastinator… (erm… frustrated perfectionist!!) So in light of the noble aspirations of this blog, I shall give Miss Dickinson the floor:
The gleam of an heroic Act
Such strange illumination
The Possible’s slow fuse is lit
By the Imagination.
Tall order indeed.
